Short Bio

Dr. Arne Weinhold studied biology at Philipps-Universität Marburg and completed his Ph.D. in molecular ecology at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology in Jena. His research focused on plant-microbe-herbivore interactions, including several research stays in the USA. He became Postdoctoral fellow in a Collaborative Research Center at Freie Universität Berlin and shifted his research focus towards insect-microbe symbiosis. At LMU Munich he leads an independent DFG-funded research group investigating pollinator-microbe interactions in butterflies.
